When we moved to Columbus about a year ago, we knew what we wanted in our new home, but we had no idea where to build the home or who should build it. We were looking for a home in the country with beautiful scenery but not too far from the amenities of Columbus. Shawnee Crossing proved to be an ideal location. Located on the outskirts of downtown Pickerington, it has a great country feel, and it only takes 20 minutes to get anywhere.

Even with the perfect setting, we still needed a builder. When we met Lesa and walked through the model home, we knew William Fannin Builders would be building our home. The attention to detail throughout a Fannin home is second to none. We wanted a home with depth and character, and Fannin provided us that and so much more. From granite countertops to ceramic tile and hardwood floors to wood cased windows and built-in bookcases, Fannin delivered all that it promised.

Although the quality of a Fannin home is superb, it is their service that separates them from all the other builders in Columbus. They worked with us every step of the way as we took their base floor plan and modified it to fit our needs. And when we made changes or additions, Lesa and Jeff made sure that it would look right. For example, we chose to have built in cabinets installed next to the fireplace. Jeff recognized that it would look odd the way we had it planned, so he recommended to add more cabinets, which he installed at no charge to us just so it would look right! Another example is the hardwood floor, which was defective when it arrived from the manufacturer. The defect was almost unnoticeable, and no doubt any other builder in Columbus would have put it in regardless. Jeff returned the entire shipment and ordered a replacement floor from another manufacturer. These are but two examples of the quality and service offered by William Fannin Builders.

While quality and service is the driving force behind William Fannin Builders, we would be remiss if we did not comment upon value. When we met with various production builders around Columbus, we were told it would be more expensive to upgrade than for us to tear out the base product and replace it once we moved in. This made absolutely no sense to us. The cost of an upgrade generally should only be the increase in material cost. But with Fannin, we did not have to upgrade. Fannin’s standard product is an upgraded product for most other builders. When we added up the cost of a production built home with upgrades to make it comparable to a Fannin home, it was evident that the Fannin home was less expensive.

So why did we choose William Fannin Builders? Three reasons – quality, service, value. While we won’t be moving any time soon, the next time we do it will be into our next William Fannin Built home.
